Does the hadith mean that the reward for good deeds when fasting is multiplied more than seven hundredfold, because Allah, may He be exalted, says: “Fasting is for Me and I shall reward for it”? Praise be to Allah It is proven in the hadith that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Every deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied between ten and seven hundred times. Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, said: Except fasting. It is for Me and I shall reward for it. He gives up his desires and his food for My sake.” Narrated by Muslim (1151) In their commentaries on this hadith, the scholars stated that what this means is that the reward for fasting is multiplied more than seven hundredfold.
